We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant to join an award-winning manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant with hands-on mechanical experience who is looking to develop their engineering skills within a modern manufacturing environment.

As a Maintenance Engineer Assistant, you will provide practical support to the Maintenance Engineers, helping to reduce their workload and ensuring machinery is prepared for servicing and maintenance efficiently.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Maintenance Engineers with day-to-day engineering activities.
  • Taking machinery and mechanical equipment apart ready for servicing and maintenance.
  • Reassembling machinery correctly once servicing or maintenance work has been completed.
  • Preparing equipment for planned maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and adjustments.
  • Working safely around industrial machinery and following site procedures.
  • Keeping equipment, tools and work areas clean and organised.

About You

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Assistant with:

  • Previous hands-on mechanical experience, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment.
  • Good practical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience using basic mechanical tools.
  • Confidence taking machinery apart and putting it back together correctly.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work methodically.
  • A good understanding of health and safety when working around machinery.
  • A willingness to learn and develop engineering skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.

Formal engineering qualifications are desirable but not essential if you have good practical mechanical experience.
