The Role
Our client, an award-winning, fast-growing food manufacturer based in central Nottingham, is seeking an experienced Hygiene Line Leader to take responsibility for hygiene operations across their production facility on the afternoon shift. This is a key role, offering the opportunity to lead a team, drive food safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in a values-driven environment.

Job Description:
- Manage and lead hygiene activities across the Prep, Kitchen, and Production Lines
- Supervise and support a team of Hygiene Operatives, including training, scheduling and performance monitoring
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, COSHH, health & safety, and GMP standards
- Complete hygiene documentation and carry out inspections/audits to maintain audit readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Technical, and Quality teams to support smooth operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily hygiene activities in line with production schedules
- Monitor and maintain cleaning materials, PPE and hygiene equipment
- Conduct routine safety walks and hygiene inspections
- Ensure cleaning schedules, procedures, and records are maintained accurately
- Train team members to required standards (SOPs, CCPs, safety protocols)
- Report and escalate hygiene, safety or maintenance concerns
- Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Support cross-functional collaboration and shift handovers
Skills and Experience:
- Must have experience in hygiene/cleaning roles within a food production setting
- Team leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of hygiene protocols, COSHH regulations, and food safety standards
- Ideally Lv2 or 3 Food Hygiene certificate and familiar with allergen controls
- Ability to manage schedules, tasks, and compliance documentation (experience of BRC ideal but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve hygiene-related issues
- Good communication skills and cross-functional teamwork
