This is your chance to join a truly iconic Midlands retail group. Due to ongoing company expansion, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join my clients team. We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual who is able to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines. Reporting into Senior IT Management, you will help support the administration of a large hybrid infrastructure and network estate.
As part of the IT Infrastructure Operations team, you will play a lead role in the administration and support of my clients extensive network and server estate, ensuring the reliability, security and performance of mission-critical enterprise IT systems. This role places a particular emphasis on networking and connectivity, where your expertise will help optimise and evolve the LAN, WLAN and WAN infrastructure across the organisation.
CANDIDATE PROFILE / ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
We want an experienced and technically skilled Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer with a strong track record of supporting large-scale, enterprise networks.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- To be considered, candidates will offer a minimum of 5 years of commercial experience covering:
- Core Networking Skills
- Advanced experience configuring and maintaining Cisco network equipment
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues across multiple sites
- Experience in network design, implementation, and optimisation
- Deep understanding of network and perimeter security best practices
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP (or equivalent experience)
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Broader Infrastructure & Automation Skills (Highly Desirable)
- Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation, including clusters
- Strong knowledge of Storage Area Networks and enterprise backup solutions
- Administration of Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, Windows Server
- Automation skills using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform
- Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or Google)
- Experience with IT disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications VOIP platforms
