Proactive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Manufacturing business in Telford who are looking for a Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls including risk management, are operating effectively. You will also oversee all financial ledgers, fixed assets, stock and cash flow reporting.

Salary: £75,000 per annum DOE.

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:30am 5pm & Fri 8:30am 4:30pm | Office based

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing transactional team and overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, stock, cash, Bank and General Ledger entries.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively.
  • Responsibility for maintaining statutory records for the business.
  • Company Taxation management (VAT; Corporation tax, Plastic; Waste; Customs & Excise, Class 1a; R&D; CCA).
  • Fixed asset & Capital Allowances.
  • Treasury management, Liaison with Banks, forecasting & MI data submission.
  • Budgeting & forecasting (Cashflow, Balance sheet).
  • Liaise with auditors and preparing audited accounts.
  • Project management of process changes and implementations.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Other adhoc duties including reception & departmental cover.

Ideal Candidate:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent.
  • 5-10 years experience in operational financial & statutory accounts.
  • Experience with General Ledger and Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Financial controls & risk management experience.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Word & Database Skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Accurate with a consistent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Approachable and flexible.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ability to cope with change within a fast-paced environment.
