12-month Fixed Term Contract with potential to go permanent. Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Officer to join our client's well-established team in Telford to cover a maternity contract, with potential to go permanent.
This role will include managing three companies' payrolls and must ensure accurate, timely payment of employee wages, taxes, and benefits while maintaining compliance with employment laws.
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm | Office based | 1-hour lunch
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Dependant on Experience.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Checking timesheets to see how many hours employees worked and upload to the system.
- Manage an efficient and effective end-to-end payroll service in relation to the lifecycle of an employee, including creation/checking of new employees, variations to contract, payments, deductions and terminations.
- Calculating deductions including DEA, AOE, as well as other deductions.
- Processing holiday, sick, maternity and paternity leave payments.
- Resolving any discrepancies or payroll related issues.
- Processing monthly payroll.
- Issuing payslips.
- Processing PAYE payments.
- Generate payroll reports for management and reconcile payroll accounts monthly.
- Work closely and cooperate with the HR department to continuously improve processes and information flows.
- Accounts Receivable Tasks.
- Credit Control.
- Month End Accruals.
- Managing Asset Register.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a payroll function.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax laws (PAYE), pension regulations and payroll processes.
- Experience with payroll systems (Preferably Moorepay) and SAP.
- High attention to detail for accurate data entry and calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, or payslips.
- The ability to work well with others as well as the ability to work on your own.
- Having ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Administration skills.
