Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for a world leading food ingredient manufacturing company. This is a permanent position based at one of their sites in Burton-on-Trent.

Main purpose: The Regulatory Affairs Scientist is to advise the organization on food, feed and related regulations, compliance & regulatory strategy affecting the business. Participate in Trade Associations relevant to the business. Prepare and submit regulatory dossiers and other regulatory submissions to support the business. Complete customer documentation requests to support business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Company Mission Statement, Quality Policy, Values and Beliefs
  • Update the business on relevant changes in food regulations
  • Advise the business on regulatory compliance for colours products
  • Prepare technical documents and position statements for products where necessary
  • Complete Customer documentation requests - on Regulatory and/or Quality to provide superior service
  • Contribute to and represent the Company in external Trade Associations
  • Prepare dossiers for key products as required by EFSA, JECFA & other relevant institutions
  • Partner with Global Quality, Applications & Innovations, Marketing and Manufacturing by delivering regulatory positions to Applications, Innovations or Manufacturing from concept to commercialization
  • Work with Global Regulatory colleagues in the Regions to align and support the Colour Business Unit
  • Effectively review and provide new ingredient approvals, application assessment, product launches and regulatory troubleshooting
  • Responsible for regulatory integration and portion of the item nomination process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related subject essential
  • Bachelor's degree in law/regulatory desirable
  • At least 5 years experience in related fields with 2 years in regulatory roles
  • Technical / scientific knowledge in relevant areas
