Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of a successful transport and logistics company based in Trafford Park. This is a permanent position working on days with some early and later shifts to cover holidays. The Transport Planner position is based in their Trafford Park site and is a great opportunity for a high performing, motivated, hands-on person to join the existing team.
You will be responsible and accountable for:
- Planning Irish Export Trailers (Dublin & Belfast)
- Planning our multi drop C&D vehicles effectively to achieve on time deliveries (Holiday cover)
- Ensuring all customer collections are achieved.
- Changing schedules to meet customer/network demands.
- Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure all day-to-day activities are met to the highest possible standards.
- Ensuring our drivers are delivering effectively and reporting delays effectively.
- Trouble shooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.
Skills & Attributes:
- The ability to utilise and manage people effectively.
- Full training for the in-house systems will be provided, however a good knowledge of computer skills will be required.
- Flexible approach with regards to working hours.
- Able to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
- Well organised with an acute attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
Benefits:
- Up to £34,000pa
- Monday – Friday 9-5.30pm with AM/PM Shift Holiday Covering Role 9 weeks throughout the year (5.30am-2pm & 12.00-8.30pm)
- Saturday mornings occasionally, paid as overtime additionally to salary
- 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) – up to max 35 days with service.
