Proactive Personnel Ltd are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead an electrical sub‑assembly team within a busy manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader with a strong electrical background to oversee production activities, drive team performance, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of electrical panel wirers and fitters, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and motivate a team of electrical assembly technicians, panel builders, and fitters.
  • Take ownership of allocated projects from planning through to successful completion.
  • Ensure all testing and inspection procedures are completed accurately and documented before products are released for final assembly.
  • Organise and prioritise daily workloads to meet project milestones and production schedules.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Manufacturing Manager on project status and team performance.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and PPE requirements.
  • Support employee development through mentoring, coaching, performance management, and involvement in disciplinary procedures when required.
  • Follow and uphold all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing, engineering, automation, or equipment-build environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical control systems and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Previous hands‑on experience in electrical fitting, panel wiring, or machine assembly.
  • Technically minded, with knowledge of inverter parameter configuration or a willingness to develop these skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, solve problems, and work effectively within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating teams to achieve production deadlines and quality objectives.

Qualifications

  • HNC (or equivalent qualification) in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
