Shift Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) x 2 Salary - £48,672 Shift Pattern - 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern: 2 days (7:00am 7:00pm) 2 nights (7:00pm 7:00am) 4 days off About the Role We are recruiting for a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing operation.

This Shift Maintenance Engineer position is a hands-on role responsible for providing both planned and reactive maintenance support across production facilities, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Working as part of a shift engineering team, the Shift Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and improving site assets, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping to deliver high levels of production performance.

Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site assets.

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.

Support production teams to ensure equipment is operating safely and effectively.

Utilise maintenance management systems to record work and manage asset care activities.

Assist with engineering improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to prevent repeat failures.

Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality standards.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and other departments to maintain operational performance.

Contribute to energy efficiency and environmental improvement initiatives.

About You You will be a proactive and adaptable Shift Maintenance Engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Requirements Recognised UK electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

Multi-skilled engineering capability with experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.

Basic PLC input/output fault-finding knowledge.

Good understanding of motors, drives, transmissions, brakes, feedback systems, and associated controls.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Organised, self-motivated, and capable of performing under pressure.
