We are currently looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager for our client construction based client in Sawbridgeworth on a permanent basis. The postholder will be responsible for managing and leading all aspects of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) issues for the Company and monitoring strategies that will promote development in the safety management system. You will also be required to travel across sites in the London area.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and control all aspects of the Company's Management HSQE systems training and development within the Company and control the administration of personnel and safety documentation.
- Manage and control the running of the HSQE.
- Advising contract and site staff on risk assessments, method statements, task specific briefings, Site Health & Safety Plans and safety issues generally.
- Documentation and record keeping - management of Company close call reporting procedure.
- Site inspections and audits and the closure of non-conformances.
- Representing the Company at Safety meetings with Clients and Sub-Contractors.
- Co-ordination of safety measures with those other contractors, sub-contractors, clients, and safety representatives on the same project.
- Accident Investigation and reports - development of action plans to ensure incidents are not repeated.
- Communication of safety initiatives/notices/alerts to staff and workforce.
- Develop and deliver in-house safety training programs / presentations.
- Issue staff information as to changes in technology, work methods or statutory requirements by means of safety bulletins, internal safety procedures applicable to the Company.
- Attending HSEQ meetings with clients and contractors.
- Undertaking site HSQE audits.
Qualifications, Experience/Knowledge & Skills
- NEBOSH.
- Statutory Health and Safety Regulations.
- Client Health Safety and Environmental requirements.
- The requirements of ISO Standards.
- Formal auditing experience/training.
- Rail Industry Management (RISQS/Sentinel etc).
- Industry training systems.
- CDM Regulations 2015.
- Environmental issues including impact management and legislation.
- Data Protection ACT and GDPR.
- Ability to analyse, produce and present reports and data.
- Formal auditing experience/training.
Skills
- Ability to use a range of IT packages and bespoke packages.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral & written.
- Negotiation skills and ability to apply skills internally, externally & with our supply chain.
- Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and play an active part in the Company.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience and hours are Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17.00.
