Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer/Technician in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas for a successful specialist company that manufactures and services Volumetric Concrete Mixers, Concrete Pumps & Cement Silos. This is a permanent position with a company vehicle provided, it is a great opportunity to join the rapidly growing business with their new Southern site opening imminently.
This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of construction machinery. You will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our customers' equipment, attending sites across the south of England to carry out proactive and preventative maintenance as well as emergency breakdowns. As the role is customer facing, you will provide exceptional service to our clients, offering a can-do attitude and always willing to go the extra mile.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out on-site servicing, repairs, and maintenance of machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and breakdowns.
- Carry out machinery calibrations to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
- Manage job records and sufficiently provide job reports.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers when required.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company and industry health & safety standards.
- Flexible approach to workload and the potential for nights away from home.
- Experience as a Plant, Heavy Machinery, or Construction Equipment Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and 12/24v electrical systems (110v + Desirable).
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of construction machinery.
- MIG welding / fabrication experience.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Basic computer skills, Excel / Word.
