Proactive Personnel are currently looking for several Yard Operatives to start work immediately in Garstang, PR3.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials around the yard.
- Assist with warehouse management system updates to track inventory movements accurately.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation in the yard.
- Participate in shipping and receiving activities, including preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Load and unload lorries using appropriate manual handling techniques and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Support construction-related tasks as required, including materials handling on-site.
- Assist with general yard duties such as sweeping, organising storage areas, and waste disposal.
Requirements:
- Previous warehouse or construction experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks.
- Valid forklift licence is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or background in materials handling is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake training related to health & safety procedures and equipment operation.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07:00am- 17:00pm.
