Proactive Personnel are currently looking for several Yard Operatives to start work immediately in Garstang, PR3.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials around the yard.
  • Assist with warehouse management system updates to track inventory movements accurately.
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation in the yard.
  • Participate in shipping and receiving activities, including preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
  • Load and unload lorries using appropriate manual handling techniques and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Support construction-related tasks as required, including materials handling on-site.
  • Assist with general yard duties such as sweeping, organising storage areas, and waste disposal.

Requirements:

  • Previous warehouse or construction experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks.
  • Valid forklift licence is highly desirable.
  • Mechanical knowledge or background in materials handling is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training related to health & safety procedures and equipment operation.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 07:00am- 17:00pm.
