Our client operates within the residential property sector, managing developments across the UK. They are currently seeking a professional, proactive Receptionist to be the welcoming face of their Birmingham City Centre location.
About the Role
As Receptionist, you will:
- Greet, welcome, and assist all visitors warmly and positively.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the reception area and foyer.
- Provide a professional and friendly service to tenants, visitors, and contractors.
- Support the wider property team in ensuring a positive customer experience and well-run building.
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties
- Welcome and direct visitors appropriately.
- Log all visitors and contractors, issuing passes as required.
- Maintain a clean and presentable reception and foyer area.
- Handle, store, and track incoming parcels and deliveries.
- Notify team members of deliveries as needed.
- Liaise with security staff regarding any issues or concerns.
Assist the property team with:
- Booking cleaners for apartment turnovers.
- Responding to resident queries.
- Logging and communicating residents’ utility readings (electricity, water, council tax).
- Coordinating maintenance access with residents.
- Provide support to other Midlands-based sites during busy periods or new builds.
- Maintain effective records, using systems such as the Active Building portal and Make Ready board.
- Provide regular updates to the Property Manager.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a front-of-house or reception role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (emails, data entry).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of stock control and ordering.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
- Understanding of utilities and council tax processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Able to prioritise tasks using own initiative.
- Calm and professional when handling difficult situations.
- Friendly, approachable, and helpful.
- Reliable and hardworking with a proactive attitude.
