Job description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by efficiently handling materials, managing inventory, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Duties
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling of materials
- Handling 20-25kilo bags alot of heavy lifting involved and Flt C/B work
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move products within the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Assist in the shipping and receiving of products, verifying quantities and quality against orders.
- Perform regular inspections and basic repairs on warehouse equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Carry out general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures and best practices.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and record keeping.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair is advantageous.
- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to undergo training for certification.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
