About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV HIAB Driver to join our team based in Dumfries. This role involves the safe delivery and collection of goods using HIAB equipment, ensuring high standards of customer service and compliance with all transport regulations. There will be a requirement to work away from home on occasion, with a night-out allowance provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate HGV vehicles fitted with HIAB crane equipment safely and efficiently.
- Deliver and collect goods to/from customer sites.
- Load and unload materials using HIAB in line with safety procedures.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and with accurate documentation.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times.
- Comply with all driving laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, standard daytime hours.
- Overtime available and paid at time and a half after normal hours.
- Occasional overnight stays required (night-out allowance provided).
Requirements:
- Valid HGV (Class 1 or Class 2) licence.
- Valid HIAB certification (ALLMI or equivalent).
- CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Previous experience operating HIAB equipment preferred.
- Good understanding of health & safety practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and willing to work away when required.
