Proactive Personnel are currently working in partnership with a local authority to recruit a highly motivated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join their team permanently. The team supports the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of motor vehicles from a wide range of companies.
You will need to be suitably experienced and hold a relevant vocational qualification in vehicle maintenance operations and a valid full Driving Licence with a minimum of category B. Being a qualified MOT tester in Classes 4 and 7 would be advantageous but not essential. All standard and specialist tools are supplied as part of the position, along with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and branded workwear. The role will be based at a brand new state-of-the-art, purpose-built workshop in the centre of Derby, including free parking. Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00 β 16.00 & Friday 08.00 β 15.30 β just 37 hours per week. NO WEEKENDS!

Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, utilizing mechanical knowledge and hand tools effectively.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems using power tools as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow and efficiency.
- Drive vehicles as necessary for test drives and to ensure proper functioning post-repair.
