Production Team Leader in Clayton le Moors

Proactive Personnel are currently looking for a Production Team Leader to join our client's Production Department on a temp to perm basis.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with previous leadership experience and a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly operations.
Responsibilities:

• Leading and supervising a production cell and ensuring the team meets daily production targets.
• Allocating tasks and responsibilities to production operators.
• Training, coaching and supporting team members to improve their skills and performance.
• Monitoring attendance, timekeeping, holidays and sickness in line with company procedures.
• Dealing with employee concerns and maintaining discipline within the team.
• Ensuring production schedules and targets are achieved.
• Making sure all required production documentation is completed correctly using the ERP system.
• Ensuring raw materials are available and stock levels are maintained within the cell.
• Monitoring production processes to ensure quality, efficiency and productivity targets are met.
• Reporting machinery breakdowns and equipment issues promptly using Workmate.
• Ensuring all quality procedures and specifications are followed.
• Carrying out first-off inspections and regular quality checks where required.
• Promoting a safe working environment and ensuring employees follow Health & Safety procedures and use the correct PPE.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Candidate

Requirements:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience, ideally within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and production operations.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Good awareness of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
• Knowledge of Syspro ERP or a similar system would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, computer and organisational skills.
• A proactive, enthusiastic and hands-on approach to work.
