My client who works within the manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Buyer / Category Leader to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with the right skill set and passion to join a fantastic team. The Buyer will be responsible for supporting with procurement related data gathering and analysis, supply interaction via commodity responsibility, procurement support for different sites and the direct support of management.
Key Details:
- Monday to Friday – 08:30 – 16:15.
- Permanent contract.
- Fully office based.
- Salary ranging from £30,000 – £34,999.
Duties and Experience:
- Source and issue subcontracts for machinery, equipment, tools, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
- Support procurement activities in a centralized environment with colleagues in multiple locations.
- Manage material aspects for assigned commodity groups. Prepare, issue, and review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyse trends, approve payments and maintain the necessary records.
- Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
- Compile and analyse statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
- Confer with suppliers and analyse the suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine the lowest costs consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
- SAP experience highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Contract Law & other Procurement regulations.
- Strong aptitude for negotiations including some significant demonstrated success.
- Cost savings driven with an understanding of the impact to bottom line.
