We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join a busy and growing commercial vehicle body shop in Bromborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, team-oriented business that prides itself on delivering quality repairs and exceptional customer service. The company works with major insurance and accident management companies and carries out accident repair work for leading truck and van dealerships across the North West.
The Role:
- Inspecting damaged vehicles following accidents, theft, weather damage and other incidents
- Identifying both visible and hidden vehicle damage
- Preparing accurate repair estimates, including parts, labour and paint costs
- Assessing whether vehicles are repairable or uneconomical to repair
- Liaising with insurance companies, vehicle owners and internal workshop teams
- Working closely with workshop managers, supervisors and parts departments to ensure repair targets are achieved
- Producing detailed reports, photographs and repair cost breakdowns
- Ensuring all estimates are completed accurately and efficiently
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Estimator or similar role
- Experience with vans and light commercial vehicles
- Strong mechanical and automotive knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain damage and repair costs clearly
- Basic IT skills and experience using estimating software such as Audatex or Glassmatix
- ATA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
