We are currently recruiting for a Transport Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation in Bootle.

The Role
As a Transport Administrator, you will provide day-to-day administrative support to the transport team, drivers and managers, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the transport team, drivers and management.
- Prepare, issue and maintain transport documentation, including delivery notes, manifests, collection paperwork and proof of delivery records.
- Accurately update transport systems, spreadsheets and customer portals.
- Monitor delivery and collection schedules, escalating delays, failed deliveries and operational issues where required.
- Liaise with drivers, customers, warehouse teams, planners and external partners.
- Book container collections and arrange the return of empty containers in liaison with Port Operations.
- Support driver debriefs, ensuring service issues, returns, shortages, damages and customer queries are accurately recorded and followed up.
- Maintain driver records, including licences, CPC documentation, training records and working time information where applicable.
- Assist with vehicle administration, including defect reporting, service schedules, MOT dates, inspections and maintenance records.
- Support compliance with relevant transport, health and safety and company procedures.
- Respond professionally to internal and external queries by telephone, email and through relevant systems.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following
- A relevant third-level qualification, such as A-level, degree, NVQ, diploma or similar in Transport, Logistics, Business Studies or a related discipline; OR
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Transport Administration role with administrative responsibility.
You must also have
- GCSE Grade C/ 4 or above in English and Maths.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Experience communicating at different levels across an organisation, with the ability to adapt your communication style to suit the audience.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities with precision and accuracy.
- Strong professional written communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and finding effective solutions.
