Proactive Personnel are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a small, privately owned nursery located in the village of Waverton, just outside Chester. We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and motivated Room Leader to join this warm and nurturing early years setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive, friendly environment.
The Role
As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in supporting children's development, building strong relationships with families, and leading high-quality practice within the room. You will be a designated key person and will contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for all children. This is a full-time position, working between 7:30am and 6pm on a rota basis. Due to the rural location, own transport is preferred.
Key Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (essential)
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- A caring, nurturing and professional approach to supporting children's emotional wellbeing
- Ability to lead, support and motivate a team within the room
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure children's safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding remain the highest priority
- Maintain consistent daily routines
- Follow all health, hygiene and safety procedures
- Lead the planning and delivery of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities
- Oversee Continuous Provision and ensure high-quality learning opportunities
- Act as a key person, ensuring effective planning and observation for each child
- Support new children during settling-in sessions and manage smooth room transitions
- Assist in planning events, Stay & Play sessions, and parent engagement activities
