Staffordshire (WS15)
Monday to Friday, 7am β 4pm (40 hours per week with occasional weekends and bank holidays required)
Job Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Production Planner to join their manufacturing team. This is a key role responsible for creating and maintaining efficient production schedules based on sales forecasts, stock levels, and customer orders.
The successful candidate will work closely with procurement, manufacturing, stock control, and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective production planning across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules in line with sales and operational forecasts
- Coordinate with procurement, stock control, and production teams to ensure material availability
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines
- Analyse capacity and workloads across all production lines and sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce lead times and improve processes
- Manage urgent orders, updating internal stakeholders daily
- Record production data, delays, and usage of resources
- Support stock accuracy through regular stock takes and system updates
- Clear journal errors in the system to maintain accurate stock levels
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding schedule changes, priorities, and risks
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MRP / ERP systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Must have a full UK driving licence and be flexible with travelling across multiple sites
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable
- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
