Our client are seeking an experienced IT Network Security Engineer to design, secure, and maintain resilient network and cyber security services across a modern, multi-site environment. This role is key to protecting critical systems and ensuring secure, reliable IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and secure LAN/WAN/VPN, firewall, WiFi, and network communications.
- Monitor and improve network security posture, performance, and threat landscape.
- Administer firewalls, routers, switches, DMZs, servers, and IP addressing (DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Manage SSL certificates and external web security.
- Support GDPR and NIS2 compliance and assist with security incident response.
- Deliver penetration testing, implement improvements, and support business continuity planning.
- Collaborate with SOC and IT teams to resolve vulnerabilities and critical threats.
- Maintain network documentation, asset records, and provide service updates.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in an IT security or network security role.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, and enterprise WiFi.
- Hands-on firewall experience (Fortigate preferred).
- Experience in Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of cyber security standards and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001).
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Desirable
- CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Dell networking, VMware/ESXi, GNS3, and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of MDM, CrowdStrike, and Cortex XDR.
