12 Month FTC | Up to £60k per annum | Exeter, Hybrid/ Remote – dependent on candidate location

Our leading client is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join their team on an initial 12-month FTC. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering a range of infrastructure and wider IT projects, supporting system maintenance, and implementing service and security improvements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Work with partners to manage and maintain our IT systems, including servers, networks, and security tools.
  • Keep IT services running smoothly by monitoring performance and responding to alerts.
  • Handle and resolve IT issues, incidents, and service requests.
  • Identify security weaknesses and put processes in place to fix them.
  • Regularly review and apply system and security updates.
  • Provide technical help and support to colleagues when needed.
  • Work with IT Support and DevOps teams to ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Deliver IT improvements and new technology solutions as part of the project portfolio.
  • Manage user accounts, access, and permissions across systems.
  • Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerts.
  • Keep IT documentation and procedures up to date.
  • Help implement and maintain backup and recovery processes.
Experience:
  • Experienced in technical support of IT Infrastructure and Operations (ideally in AWS).
  • Strong understanding of security principles and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and remediation processes.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security protocols.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
