Opportunity for Contract to Permanent initially. We are working on behalf of a well-regarded organisation in the education sector to recruit an experienced Senior IT Technician to join their established IT team. This is a hands-on, senior-level role supporting a busy educational environment where technology plays a central role in day-to-day learning and operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Manager, ensuring that all digital and technology services across the school operate reliably, securely and in line with best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior-level technical support across all areas
- Work closely with the IT Manager to ensure continuity and reliability of IT services
- Ensure all systems, services and IT support comply with safeguarding, data protection and cyber security legislation
- Support the school community in the effective and appropriate use of technology
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation for both IT staff and end users
- Support classroom technology, including Microsoft 365 tools used for teaching and learning
- Maintain a strong awareness of educational priorities, development plans and emerging technologies in education
- Demonstrable exceptional customer service and people skills
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical guidance
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Active Directory (Azure AD and on-prem), Group Policy, AD Federation Services
- Microsoft 365 use in the classroom (Teams, SharePoint)
- Microsoft deployment tools: SCCM, Intune, Autopilot
- Server virtualisation (VMware)
- Data and Cyber Security best practices
- MS Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
- Fluent, accurate written and spoken English
- Ability to stay up to date with educational technology trends and developments
