Wireman/ Site Engineer required to work for a leading specialist in panel wiring and switchgear manufacturing for a range of industries. This is a key role to the business where you would be required to work on site and carry out maintenance, repair and fault finding on a range of panels and switchgear. Although this is a field-based role, when there are no field-based requirements, you will be required to assemble panels in the factory. DC switchgear experience is not necessary; however, the ability to read engineering diagrams and circuit diagrams is essential. Proven record of working on switchgear, control panels, busbars, etc.
We are looking for candidates who are willing to take part in any training courses relevant to the position. This is a Safety Critical Role, as such you will be required to pass a PTS medical.
Key Responsibilities:- On-site service, preventative maintenance, repairs and testing of DC and AC switchgear.
- Help identify and resolve potential risks for site work projects.
- Provide on-site customer support, problem solving and lateral thinking solutions.
- Provide detailed written reports and working recommendations.
- On-call duties as part of a call-out service.
- When not on site, you will be assembling switchgear products in the factory.
- Interpretation of schematic and general arrangement drawings.
- Laying out panels.
- Panel assembly including preparation of metalwork prior to assembly, cabling, control wiring.
- Copper busbar work including forming and fitting.
- Essential switchgear/electrical assembly experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Ability to interpret wiring schematic and general arrangement drawings.
- ECS Card
- PTS
As a site engineer, you will also be part of an on-call roster and will be expected to attend weekday daytime call-outs.
