We're currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to join a well-established and highly respected FMCG food manufacturer based in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer with leadership experience to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced production environment.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll be responsible for supporting and developing a team of maintenance engineers while remaining actively involved in maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities across the site. Working closely with production and engineering management, you will play a crucial role in driving performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers across daily operations
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and processing equipment
- Diagnose and fault-find on mechanical and electrical systems
- Coordinate engineering resources to ensure effective delivery of maintenance activities
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Monitor engineering KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
- Manage engineering stores and critical spare parts availability
- Support shutdown activities and oversee contractor management when required
- Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Work closely with production teams to maximise plant performance and efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on maintenance engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
- Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team leader experience
- Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance
- Excellent communication and team development skills
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
