We are currently looking for a Production/Machine Operator to work in a manufacturing company based in St. Neots.
Duties:
- Responsible for the operation of a complex plant line ensuring that the line is set up correctly, operated in accordance with SOPs, and runs to the expected production throughput and quality standard.
- Escalating downtime immediately to the Shift Operations Manager and working closely with the Shift Engineer (Reactive) and any Senior or Technical operators to resolve the root cause and get the line operational as safely and quickly as possible.
- Measure plant throughput and optimise continually during the line's operation to maximise throughput against agreed targets.
- Completing production paperwork/shift reports to maintain traceability and log issues and causes of downtime on the line.
- Carry out quality and testing checks when required, to ensure product meets required customer specification.
- Assisting as required with the production and processing of by-product, handling of waste/animal feed and waste packaging (baling) to ensure the site is tidy and organised.
- Supporting other departments as required (Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, etc.).
- Supporting any other reasonable management request.
Required Experience:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally working with modern machinery and equipment in a safe and high-quality manner.
- Able to demonstrate operating in a values-led business focused on people and service to customers.
- Able to demonstrate clear understanding and interpretation of the daily production plan and achieve company/shift KPIs/expectations.
- Ability to undertake individual and team responsibility and accountability whilst delivering efficient and high-quality service/product.
- Be able to demonstrate flexibility, reliability and enthusiasm for the role.
- Ability to run multiple production processes in accordance with SOPs.
Additional info:
- Hours: 6.00am - 2.30pm or 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
- Rate/Salary: £(phone number removed) per annum.
- Basis: Temp to Perm.
- Start Date: ASAP.
