Currently recruiting for a Night Shift Setter position with a well-established manufacturing company based in Reading.

Position: Night Shift Setter

Location: Reading, UK

Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Salary & Benefits:

  • £15.00 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
  • 20% night shift premium for hours worked between 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Paid for a 40-hour working week, while actual working hours are 37.5 hours, as the daily 30-minute break is paid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC perforating and punch presses.
  • Produce high-quality components while meeting production targets.
  • Carry out quality checks in line with ISO procedures.
  • Support the Shift Team Leader when required.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
  • Assist in training and developing team members.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in Punch Press Setting (highly preferred).
  • Candidates with CNC Setter experience will also be considered if they have the right mechanical background.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Forklift licence or experience.
  • Knowledge of SMED, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Power Press Regulations Certificate or First Aid qualification.
