We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding engineering team delivering innovative power and protection systems within highly regulated and technically challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor
- Support system integration activities, ensuring compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and material selection
- Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Support verification and validation activities, including testing, prototyping, and product development
- Collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in mechanical design within engineering or manufacturing projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within defence, aerospace, nuclear, rail, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with verification, validation, testing, and prototyping activities
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must:
- Be eligible to obtain DBS and BPSS clearance
- Hold a UK passport or dual UK nationality
