Proactive is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join a leading manufacturing and production business based in Milton Keynes.

Due to continued company growth and a strong and increasing order book, our client is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced Test Engineer.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring electrical and mechanical assemblies are tested, inspected and completed to the required quality standards, specifications and timescales.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out testing in accordance with schematic drawings, run-out sheets and detailed technical documentation.

Complete mechanical build testing, point-to-point wiring checks and associated electrical testing.

Work within an ISO 9001 compliant quality system, ensuring all assemblies are inspected and tested in accordance with approved procedures.

Prepare test certificates, inspection records and other relevant internal documentation.

Identify, investigate and accurately report test failures, providing clear feedback to management and relevant engineering teams.

Assemble and wire electrical assemblies in accordance with detailed electrical drawings when required.

Maintain accurate customer job packs, test documentation and associated paperwork throughout the production process.

Complete testing and build activities within agreed timescales while maintaining consistently high standards of quality and workmanship.

Support the training and development of apprentices and less experienced members of the team.

Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures and working practices.

Contribute to a positive, professional and quality-focused working environment.

Experience and Qualifications The successful candidate will ideally have: Extensive and varied experience within testing, electrical wiring, fitting and sub-assembly environments.

Strong practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly and testing procedures.

A high level of competence in quality assurance and compliance with mechanical and electrical schematic requirements.

Ideally, an HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an electrical or engineering discipline.

Ideally, a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.

The ability to diagnose issues, identify faults and see tasks through to successful completion.
