We are seeking experienced Electrical Fitters to support a major automation installation project at Amazon DZM1 in Middlesbrough. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation activities across a large-scale warehouse automation system, working as part of a wider installation team to ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This is a hands-on site-based role ideally suited to individuals with previous experience within automation, conveyors, material handling, logistics, or industrial installation environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install electrical containment systems including tray, trunking, basket, and conduit
- Pull, route, and secure electrical cabling throughout the installation
- Carry out electrical terminations on motors, sensors, control panels, and associated equipment
- Read and work from electrical drawings and installation documentation
- Support the installation of conveyor systems, controls equipment, and automation infrastructure
- Ensure all installations are completed in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
- Work closely with Electrical Supervisors, Mechanical Fitters, and Project Management teams
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all site health & safety requirements
- Assist with testing, fault finding, commissioning, and project handover activities as required
- Complete installation works within project timescales and quality expectations
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as an Electrical Fitter, Electrician, Electrical Installer, or Electrical Technician
- Experience working on automation, conveyor, warehouse automation, logistics, or industrial installation projects
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- ECS Card (Electrical Safety Card) – Essential
- Recognised Electrical Qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent) – Essential
- Strong understanding of safe working practices within industrial environments
- Experience carrying out containment, cabling, and termination works
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
DESIRABLE
- Previous Amazon project experience
- Experience working on material handling or automated conveyor systems
- JIB Gold Card/ECS - Essential
- Experience supporting testing and commissioning activities
