Location: Derbyshire

Shift: Rotating 12-hour day and night shift

We're looking for an experienced Resident Site Engineer to join a busy, fully automated warehouse operation in Derbyshire. This is an electrically biased engineering role, ideal for someone with a strong background in automation, logistics, conveyors, FMCG, packaging, or similar fast-paced environments.

The Role

As a Resident Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping automated warehouse equipment operating safely and efficiently. You'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and preventative maintenance across a range of automated systems. The role will involve working on equipment such as conveyors, automated handling systems, motors, sensors, control systems and associated electrical equipment. You'll also be expected to respond quickly to breakdowns, identify root causes and support the ongoing reliability and performance of the site.

Key Requirements

  • Level 3 engineering qualification is essential
  • Electrically biased engineering background
  • Around 5+ years' relevant engineering experience
  • Strong experience in maintenance, fault-finding and repair
  • Background in automation, logistics, conveyors, FMCG, packaging or similar environments
  • Comfortable working within a highly automated warehouse environment
  • Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 32 metres
  • Able to work a rotating 12-hour day and night shift
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Reliable and safety-conscious, with a stable employment history
  • Not suitable for junior engineers

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer who is confident diagnosing electrical faults and working independently in a demanding automated environment. You should be comfortable working at height, responding to breakdowns and maintaining complex automated equipment while following strict health and safety procedures. If you have the electrical maintenance experience and automation background we're looking for, we'd be keen to hear from you.
