Proactive are currently recruiting for a Project Buyer to join a dynamic and growing business based in London. As a Project Buyer, you'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement activities, and supporting the successful delivery of customer projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, products, and services required to support business operations and customer projects.
  • Identify and engage with new and existing suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality products, and reliable delivery schedules.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions.
  • Support project delivery by ensuring all procurement activities are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and order progress to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, cost information, and supplier data.
  • Work closely with internal departments to understand requirements and provide procurement support throughout project lifecycles.
  • Assist with forecasting, planning, and inventory-related activities to minimise delays and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Resolve supply chain issues and communicate updates effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate logistics and delivery requirements where necessary to support successful project completion.

Skills

  • Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain role.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to analyse costs and identify savings opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach to work.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
