Overview of the Engineering Team Leader position in a well-established FMCG food manufacturer based in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer with leadership experience to advance in a fast-paced production environment. Salary up to £59,000 plus benefits; 4 on 4 off | 12-hour day shifts (no nights).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers across daily operations
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and processing equipment
  • Diagnose and fault-find on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Coordinate engineering resources to ensure effective delivery of maintenance activities
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve reliability
  • Monitor engineering KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
  • Manage engineering stores and critical spare parts availability
  • Support shutdown activities and oversee contractor management when required
  • Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
  • Work closely with production teams to maximise plant performance and efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on maintenance engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team leader experience
  • Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance
  • Excellent communication and team development skills
  • Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
