Urgently required to work for a specialist Engineering organisation based in Redhill, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience within Purchasing, Supply Chain, Buying, Production Planning. This is an excellent opportunity where you will be given the opportunity to develop technically, whilst taking on further responsibility to aid in the growth of the business. No two days are the same, and this role offers a varied and interesting opportunity where you can be pivotal to the business success. This is a key role to the business where you will assist in the purchasing of supplies for the production of specialist machinery and oversee production planning. With a top-level training and development programme, any Purchasing, Supply Chain, Buying, Production Planning or similar backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Role:

  • Oversee purchasing of supplies for the production of specialist machinery
  • Work collaboratively and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, demand and supply initiatives and advise any impact or change on purchasing and production activities.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that procurement procedures are complied with by internal customers and stakeholders and guide colleagues to use ERP/MRP systems for procurement and supply activities.
  • Support product change requests, review and communicate the impact on planning and production.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers.
  • Assess, manage, report, and mitigate supplier risks.
  • Liaise with internal departments with requirements for purchasing.
  • Discuss technical specifications, BOM etc.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience with Purchasing, Supply chain, Buying, Procurement, Production Planning or similar.
  • Self-starter, who demonstrates ownership and can follow problems through to resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Organised, methodical and attentive to detail.
  • Team player who has excellent influencing skills.
