About the Opportunity

Our client is an innovative engineering and technology business developing advanced automated systems that are transforming industrial processes through cutting-edge robotics, AI and machine vision technology. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding engineering business where you will play an important role in the assembly, testing and installation of sophisticated electro-mechanical equipment. Working alongside experienced Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers, you will contribute to both product builds and continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical assembly, wiring and functional testing of products in the workshop and at customer sites.
  • Assemble, test and install complex electro-mechanical systems to engineering specifications.
  • Build, inspect and test mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies used across multiple product lines.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining full component traceability.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly, wiring and mechanical issues to minimise production delays.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and Production teams to support continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with Engineers, Technicians and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a hands-on technician or assembly role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with power and control panel wiring.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical schematics and identify any discrepancies.
  • Experience interpreting engineering documentation including assembly instructions, technical drawings and 3D CAD assemblies.
  • Competent in routing and terminating electrical wiring, cabling, pneumatic tubing and conduit.
  • Confident using a wide range of workshop equipment, hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering mindset.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing work to a consistently high standard.
  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Flexible approach to work, with willingness to support occasional weekend work (time off in lieu provided).
