We are looking for a hands-on, multi-skilled Service Engineer to join our client's team in Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with electrical experience to work on bespoke, custom-built machinery and automated systems.

The role offers a varied mix of on-site service and maintenance work at customer locations, alongside machinery assembly and engineering tasks at the company's premises.

We welcome candidates from a range of engineering backgrounds, provided they have suitable practical experience in electrical systems, troubleshooting, assembly or maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on bespoke machinery and automated systems.

  • Carry out general electrical and mechanical assembly of machinery and equipment at the company's premises when not working on-site.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning and servicing of machinery and automated equipment.
  • Work independently on customer sites while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

  • Practical experience working with electrical and mechanical systems, ideally within a service, maintenance, assembly or engineering environment.
  • Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving technical problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams or engineering documentation where required.
  • Comfortable travelling to customer sites and working on a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working with robotics or automated systems.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification. (Desirable)
  • Experience with PLCs, including fault finding or programming.
