Proactive are urgently recruiting for Cable Assembly Operative to work in our busy cable department assembling data and power cables to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Carry out the cable assembly process, including soldering, as instructed by following printed assembly instruction documents.
- Carry out custom labelling of cable assembly products as instructed by supervisor and by following printed custom label instruction documents.
- Carry out quality control of cable assemblies following written instructional documents.
- Advise Cable Lead of any broken, incomplete parts, as well as inconsistencies/safety hazards.
- Transport connectors and cables from warehouse to assembly area.
- Stack/organize completed cable assemblies per work order or sales order.
- Test all cables and place individual tested labels on main cables.
Skills/Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, basic connectivity issues and assembly concepts.
- Soldering skills.
- Cable assembly experience.
- Electrical assembly experience.
- Electronic assembly experience.
- Experience working with electrical connectors, cable, or wires.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools - especially electrical hand tools (wire cutters, wire strippers, connector crimp tools etc).
Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday
