About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development / Sales Trainee to join our growing recruitment business, specialising in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. This is not a traditional recruitment consultant role. The position is purely focused on business development, sales and winning new clients. Working within our unique business model, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, engaging with prospective clients and developing relationships with companies across the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Your primary objective will be to open doors, generate opportunities and ultimately bring new clients into the business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the sales process, is motivated by targets and enjoys speaking to decision-makers and building commercial relationships.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identifying and researching new potential clients across the manufacturing and engineering sectors
- Proactively generating new business opportunities through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn and other channels
- Speaking with business owners, hiring managers and senior decision-makers
- Qualifying prospects and understanding their recruitment requirements
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients
- Booking meetings and developing opportunities from initial contact through to conversion
- Developing long-term commercial relationships with new clients
- Maintaining accurate records of activity, prospects and opportunities
- Consistently working towards and exceeding agreed sales and business development targets
- Working closely with the wider recruitment team to ensure new opportunities are effectively converted and delivered
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who already has previous sales or business development experience (ideally within the recruitment sector) who is looking to develop their career within a highly commercial environment. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a sales or business development related role
- Recruitment experience preferably not essential
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, persistent and resilient approach to sales
- The ability to identify opportunities and engage with decision-makers
- A strong commercial mindset
- The motivation to work towards targets and measurable results
- Good organisational skills and the ability
