Are you an experienced Product Engineering Technician with a background in electronics, semiconductor manufacturing or product testing? We’re recruiting on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business for a Product Engineering Technician to join their growing team in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative electronic products, supporting product development, testing and continuous improvement within a modern engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support product characterisation across a range of electronic products.
- Carry out device analysis relating to customer returns, manufacturing issues and reliability failures.
- Produce clear technical reports and analyse test results against product specifications.
- Develop and improve automated characterisation processes.
- Design, build, maintain and repair laboratory equipment.
- Support PCB design and procurement for testing activities.
- Develop and maintain Automated Test Equipment (ATE) programmes.
- Manage laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance and repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation while ensuring high standards of quality and health & safety.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Experience within an electronics, semiconductor, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of product testing, device analysis or laboratory work.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), PCB design, Visual Basic, SAP or Microsoft Access would be advantageous.
