IT Security Lead

Inside IR35 – Up to £259 per day – Fully Remote – 3-Month Contract (Initially)

The Role:This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation as an IT Security Lead on a contract basis. In this role, you will drive the enhancement of robust incident and vulnerability management programs while proactively supporting the business through strong information security governance and technical implementation. Your work will help establish and maintain best practices, ensuring full compliance across the board.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) and operational security experience.

• A blend of technical and compliance skills, with hands-on InfoSec experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily security operations and handle escalations.

• Act as a day-to-day decision-maker, supporting and covering for senior leadership.

• Collaborate with the Senior Security Analyst on SOC escalations and investigations.

• Conduct security risk assessments and review tenders/IT questionnaires.

• Work with cross-functional teams to remove blockers.

• Oversee the Cyber Essentials Plus framework.

Team & Role Structure:

• Lead a small internal team (~2 people), with a 70% hands-on / 30% management split.

• Take ownership of existing workloads and help resolve team issues.

• Must be comfortable with both technical tasks and people leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Prior line management or team leadership experience.

• Confident in decision-making and capable of working independently.

• Skilled across both GRC and operational security duties.
