Job Description
IAM Specialist
Inside IR35 – Hybrid
We’re seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist to join a leading organisation in Birmingham on a contract basis. You’ll be responsible for enhancing and supporting the organisation’s IAM framework across cloud and on-prem environments, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365 and Entra technologies.
This role sits within a key transformation programme aimed at strengthening identity governance, access control, and data protection — including the rollout of BeyondTrust privileged access management.
Key Responsibilities

Support the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of IAM solutions across enterprise systems.

Manage user lifecycle processes — provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews.

Configure and administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.

Implement and manage Microsoft Purview policies for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information labelling/classification.

Provide expertise on M365 identity, access, and compliance features.

Support the implementation of BeyondTrust Privileged Access Management (PAM).

Ensure IAM controls align with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with Security, Infrastructure, and Compliance teams to maintain a secure access environment.
Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience as an IAM Specialist / Engineer / Consultant.

Strong working knowledge of:

Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

Active Directory (on-prem and hybrid)

Microsoft 365 (identity and compliance administration)

Microsoft Purview DLP and labelling/classification

Experience implementing or supporting BeyondTrust (PAM) is highly desirable.

Excellent understanding of authentication, authorisation, RBAC, and identity governance principles.

Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
