We are seeking an experienced Cloud Support Engineer - 3rd Line for a prestigious organisation in Kingston upon Thames. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and support Azure cloud deployments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Role Purpose
- Manage and support cloud deployments on Microsoft Azure to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure operations.
- Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated issues related to customer and application environments.
- Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide advanced technical support, ensuring timely resolution of complex incidents and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a third-line Support Engineer for escalated issues, resolving complex technical problems.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to application functionality, data discrepancies, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proactive Monitoring
- Continuously monitor cloud resources (CPU, memory, storage) to identify potential issues before they impact customers.
- Implement alerts and dashboards to track system health and performance using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Write and maintain SQL scripts to extract, analyse, and rectify data within databases.
- Develop C# scripts/tools to automate tasks, gather application insights, and assist in troubleshooting.
- Oversee Azure deployments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost optimisation.
- Manage resource usage limits and proactively adjust configurations to maintain performance.
- Work closely with development, first-line, and second-line support teams to ensure smooth issue resolution.
- Document processes, fixes, and tools for internal use and knowledge sharing.
Essential skills:
- Proven experience in a third-line support or similar role, managing and troubleshooting cloud-hosted solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including monitoring tools, resource management, and cost optimisation.
- Advanced SQL skills for writing, debugging, and optimising queries.
- Proficiency with C# for troubleshooting application code, debugging issues, and working with developers.
- Solid understanding of application troubleshooting, including database and infrastructure-related issues.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Experience supporting a B2B Azure Cloud environment.
Desirable skills:
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or Terraform.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
