Our client is a leading global financial institution undergoing continued investment across its technology and data infrastructure.
As part of this transformation, they are looking for an experienced
Rubrik SME to join their Storage & Data Protection function.
The role will suit someone who has a strong background in
Rubrik, enterprise backup, data protection and storage , ideally within a large-scale, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the
SME and technical owner for Rubrik and enterprise backup technologies .
- Oversee the design, implementation, administration and ongoing optimisation of backup systems and associated infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain backup and storage services across EMEA and international environments.
- Monitor backup success rates, identify recurring issues and drive improvements to minimise and ultimately eliminate backup failures.
- Ensure Rubrik and associated technologies are maintained, patched and upgraded in line with vendor recommendations and organisational standards.
- Ensure backup and storage platforms meet stringent security, risk, control and regulatory requirements .
- Design and implement appropriate operational controls to mitigate risks associated with data protection and storage.
- Ensure data is backed up and retained in accordance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage restoration requests and ensure historical data can be recovered reliably and within agreed SLAs.
- Ensure backup and storage environments meet agreed
SLAs, KPIs, availability and resilience requirements .
- Support the development of
BCP and Disaster Recovery strategies for new and existing services.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, technology standards and the strategic roadmap for backup and storage.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and improve the resilience, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the environment.
- Manage capacity and identify potential capacity risks before they impact service.
- Provide technical input into wider technology programmes and change initiatives.
- Participate in audits, investigations and regulatory assessments where required.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive technical and operational documentation.
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide technical consultancy to development, infrastructure and other technology teams.
- Provide day-to-day SME support for backup and storage technologies and assist with incident and request management.
Essential skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with
Rubrik in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of backup, recovery and data protection technologies .
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise backup platforms.
- Strong knowledge of
Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and operational resilience .
- Experience working within large-scale, complex infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of security, privileged access, risk and control requirements.
- Experience working with SLAs, KPIs, capacity management and service availability.
