Motivated by Winning New Business?

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development Manager to help drive the next stage of our growth.

If you enjoy opening doors, building relationships and winning new clients—but would rather focus on driving new sales than managing on-going accounts - this could be the perfect opportunity.

At Proactive Appointments, we've been successfully recruiting IT professionals for over

35 years . We have an excellent reputation, long-standing client relationships and an experienced team of Recruitment Consultants who deliver outstanding service.

Now we're looking for someone whose sole focus is developing new business.

About the Role

This is a dedicated business development role.

You'll identify prospective clients, generate new opportunities, arrange meetings, understand their recruitment requirements and secure new business for the company.

Once you've established the relationship, agreed terms and won the client's first recruitment assignment, you'll hand the account over to one of our experienced Client Managers, allowing you to concentrate on what you do best—finding and winning new clients.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities.
  • Building relationships with HR, hiring managers and decision makers.
  • Making proactive outbound calls, emails and Linked In approaches.
  • Arranging and attending client meetings.
  • Presenting our recruitment services and demonstrating the value we bring.
  • Negotiating and securing Terms & Conditions.
  • Winning the client's first recruitment assignment.
  • Working closely with our recruitment team to ensure a smooth handover.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record in business development or B2B sales.
  • Confident building relationships with senior decision makers.
  • Self-motivated with a genuine passion for winning new business.
  • Commercially aware and target driven.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Positive, resilient and determined.
  • Organised with strong attention to detail.

Previous recruitment experience would be an advantage but isn't essential.

We're equally interested in speaking with successful business development professionals from other sectors who are looking for a new challenge.

What We Offer

  • Excellent basic salary.
  • Uncapped commission with outstanding earning potential.
  • Hybrid working (one day from home each week).
  • High-quality marketing support and an established brand.
  • A dedicated delivery team to service your clients once onboarded.
  • A supportive, collaborative working environment.
  • The opportunity to play a key role in the future growth of an established recruitment consultancy.

Why Join Us?

Unlike many sales roles, you'll spend your time doing what generates results—winning new clients.

If you're an energetic, driven sales professional who enjoys the thrill of winning new business and wants to be rewarded for your success, we'd love to hear from you.
