We are looking to add an experienced, professional, and personable Senior Modern Workspace Specialist to join our growing Professional Services team.
Job Overview
As a Senior Modern Workspace Consultant at Proact, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and delivery across the design, implementation, migration, and optimisation of Modern Workspace solutions. This role will focus primarily on Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Nerdio, and the successful candidate will have strong skills across these technologies. Experience of Citrix will also be beneficial, though not essential.
Drawing on your experience with cloud‑first workspace technologies and automation platforms such as Nerdio, you will play a key role in architecting, deploying, and optimising secure, scalable, and cost‑effective Modern Workspace environments tailored to customer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and highly motivated individual to develop their career in a growing market, within a company that continues to expand its Microsoft cloud and Modern Workspace portfolio. This is a UK‑based hybrid‑working role, with a requirement to attend a Proact office up to two days per week, and additionally as required for team collaboration, customer engagement, or delivery needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their business needs and challenges related to Modern Workspace adoption.
- Architect, design, deploy and optimise Modern Workspace solutions using Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and Nerdio for automation, scaling, governance, and cost optimisation.
- Provide technical expertise in the deployment, configuration, and optimisation of Modern Workspace and endpoint management solutions.
- Develop and document detailed implementation, migration, and optimisation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Sales teams, Service Delivery Managers and fellow consultants to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Conduct assessments, health checks, and audits of customer environments, providing clear documentation with actionable recommendations.
- Deliver workshops and knowledge‑transfer sessions to customers and internal teams.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing ongoing guidance and support.
- Proactively keep skills current through certification, self‑learning, and hands‑on delivery.
- Continuously seek to improve delivery processes, documentation templates, and service quality.
Desired Experience
- 5+ years’ experience architecting, delivering and supporting enterprise Modern Workspace solutions.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory & Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft 365.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio for deployment, automation, optimisation, and management.
- Experience designing secure identity and access solutions using Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience working in cloud‑first or hybrid environments.
- Good understanding of virtualised environments (preferably VMware, Hyper‑V, or Nutanix).
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- Experience working in enterprise IT or Professional Services environments.
Additional / Non‑Essential Skills
- Experience with Citrix technologies, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and supporting components, in either on‑premises or cloud‑hosted environments.
- Working knowledge of Citrix NetScaler (ADC), including basic configuration, troubleshooting, and an understanding of load balancing, authentication, and secure access concepts.
- Awareness or experience of Omnissa Workspace Platform (formerly VMware EUC), including Horizon or related digital workspace technologies.
- Exposure to mixed Modern Workspace estates, supporting customers transitioning from Citrix or Omnissa platforms to Microsoft‑centric solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365.
- Ability to operate confidently in heterogeneous EUC environments, understanding where different workspace technologies best fit customer requirements.
