Position Overview
The Bid Manager leads the end‑to‑end bid, tender, and proposal process; owning qualification, planning, content development, governance, and timely submission. The role coordinates cross‑functional stakeholders to produce compliant, compelling, and commercially sound responses that improve win rates and secure profitable contracts. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Run bid/no‑bid qualification using agreed tools and criteria; document decisions and rationale.
- Establish the bid plan, milestones and governance checkpoints.
- Ensure compliance with procurement instructions, portal requirements and company policies.
- Identify contract risks and coordinate mitigations with Legal and Commercial.
- Build and chair a cross‑functional bid team (Sales, Pre‑Sales, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Delivery).
- Create the detailed schedule (activities, owners, dependencies, deadlines), track progress and unblock issues.
- Manage stakeholder communications, cadence calls, and resource bookings throughout the bid.
- Write, edit, and curate high‑quality proposal content aligned to evaluation criteria and customer outcomes.
- Own quality control (format, accuracy, completeness) and final proof; ensure bid packs are submission‑ready.
- Manage registrations, renewals, and applications for procurement frameworks (e.g., G‑Cloud, Crown Commercial Service frameworks, AWS/Azure Marketplaces).
- Maintain portal compliance (company details, certifications, declarations) and oversee call‑off agreement documentation.
- Track daily notices and orchestrate timely responses via the bids inbox.
- Run commercial qualification and T&Cs reviews; highlight red flags for Legal sign‑off.
- Ensure all submission mechanics are correct (portal uploads, file structures, signatures, deadlines).
- Conduct post‑submission follow‑ups, clarifications, and presentations if required.
- Manage handover to Delivery/Account teams upon award, including risks, assumptions, and obligations.
- Track pipeline, in‑flight bids, wins/losses, and lessons learned; maintain bid statistics and dashboards.
- Run win/loss reviews; feed outcomes into playbooks and training.
- Provide strategic input to improve qualification, content, references and bid tactics over time.
- Build and maintain a reusable content library (case studies, social value statements, project management, policies).
Applicant Profile
Essential:
- 3–5+ years’ experience in bid/tender/proposal management within complex solutions, technology, consulting or professional services.
- Proven track record leading multi‑stakeholder bids to submission and award.
- Hands‑on proposal writing and content editing, including structuring responses to public‑sector criteria.
- Experience with procurement frameworks (e.g. CCS) and vendor marketplaces/portals.
- Managing pricing inputs, commercial reviews, and risk registers.
