We are hiring for a leading generics business based in Bedfordshire. They are looking for an experienced In-Licensing and portfolio sales professional to join their commercial team. This is a newly created position due to business growth and ambitious business plans. The successful candidate will work closely and support the In-Licensing and Portfolio management Director by identifying, evaluating and securing strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities and BD deals.
This position requires a thorough understanding of the UK and EU pharmaceutical industry, regulatory requirements, and the ability to assess potential product opportunities. This role is predominately based onsite at the European HQ in Bedfordshire. You must be located within a travelling distance to Luton.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Identify, access, and negotiate in-licensing and portfolio development opportunities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to evaluate potential partners, product compatibility and market demand.
- Negotiate the terms and conditions of licensing agreements ensuring they align with corporate goals and financial objectives.
- Possess expertise in understanding regulatory and manufacturing requirements for the major regulated markets globally.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor actions, and regulatory changes to uncover new opportunities.
- Must have strong networking and negotiation skills.
To be considered you must have the following experience and skills:
- A high-level understanding and experience within a pharmaceutical generic business.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex scientific, financial and legal information, and to build business cases/financial models.
- Experience in business development, asset acquisition, licensing, portfolio management or related roles in the UK pharmaceutical industry.
- Strategic mindset and approach.
- Solid understanding of drug development processes, regulatory requirements (including the international recognition procedure), and intellectual property.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail orientated with excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Be able to travel internationally as required.
- Excellent communication skills, added European language would be an advantage but not a must requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree within pharmaceuticals, science, biotechnology or microbiology.
- Proven experience 3-6 years within a Licensing role (In-Licensing or Out-Licensing).
