We are currently working with a leading accountancy firm based in Lancashire who are looking to bring in an experienced R&D tax professional to take a lead on R&D tax relief across for the firm.

Your new role:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of R&D tax credit claims in line with HMRC guidance
  • Assess R&D eligibility and prepare clear technical narratives to support claims
  • Calculate qualifying expenditure across staffing, subcontractors, consumables, software, and EPWs
  • Advise on the correct application of relevant R&D regimes (e.g. SME, RDEC)
  • Act as the main contact for HMRC enquiries and manage enquiries through to resolution
  • Review and sign off R&D claims, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Stay up to date with legislation and HMRC practice, adapting approaches as needed
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, providing practical, risk-aware advice

Qualifications:

  • Suitably qualified, ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA
  • Background and experience working in R&D tax advisory
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Previous experience working in an accountancy firm
